Medical Clinic at the Terry Hope Center

Three of the children were tested for suspected HIV, but thankfully they were all negative.

The nurses ran two workshops during the day – the first one was about handwashing.

The children were extremely attentive and there was a marked difference in the amount of handwashing that was done afterwards!

The second workshop was just for the 13 older girls aged 12-16.

It was about how to take care of their personal hygiene, respect of their bodies and what action to take if they should be raped.

The Malteser International nurses confirmed that the THC children were all very healthy – especially in comparison to those that they normally see.

All of them were wormed and most of them were given extra medicine to take home with them for minor skin complaints, coughs and colds.
