HANDOVER OF THE CENTRE TO THE HOPE SELF HELP GROUP AND TERRY STOBBS

It is with a certain pride, tinged with sadness, that our ‘hands on’ involvement with the Terry Hope Centre comes to an end at the end of 2010. When the Order of Malta first got involved in this small orphan feeding project the orphans were gathering in open space in the middle of a slum to have their Saturday lunch.

Now, almost 2 years later, they have the most wonderful place to congregate and we feel reassured that they are being left in good hands, with Terry Stobbs steering the ship. We will of course keep closely in contact with them and will put news of their progress in future newsletters.

We will also be saying farewell to Terry Stobbs as part of the Order of Malta Embassy. Terry has been a very long term volunteer for the Order of Malta, both in Switzerland and in Kenya.

Terry Hope Centre

She has deep roots in Kenya going back over 50 years and her knowledge of the country was invaluable to the Order of Malta when establishing the Embassy in 2008.

Terry is remarkable in her dedication to helping those less fortunate, and the orphans at the Terry Hope Centre are very lucky to have her dedication and love in improving their circumstances.
