H.E. Ambassador Augusto Ruffo di Calabria accompanied by his daughter Princess Scilla and the First Counsellor Dr. Franco De Paoli went on a field trip to Wamba where they met the local authorities (District Officer, Community Chief and Secretary) and the religious members of the Consolata Mission.

Their meeting focused on a project that will supply water to the village of Wamba (situated in northern Kenya on the border with Ethiopia) and to the local hospital and neighbouring school run by the Consolata Mission.

The SMOM delegation had the opportunity to visit the school and the hospital that also houses the disabled children’s unit.  A local women’s group entertained the delegation with song and dance highlighting the importance of water as an essential resource.
